DAY 1.
When you arrive in St. Thomas
you are met at the
airport by Captain Tony and
immediately whisked to your new home charter
yacht La
Princesa at Yacht Haven Marina in
downtown Charlotte
Amalie or to Red Hook. The taxi
fare to La Princesa is for the guests account. Either
we have lunch or set off on board "La Princesa" to
the US Virgin Island jewel of St.
John’s, Caneel Bay or
the famous Hawks nest Bay where we spend the first night.
Snorkel or just relax and savor your sunset happy hour,
followed by a quiet dinner on the aft-deck which
completes your first half day in paradise.
DAY 2.
Power boat charter yacht “La Princesa” draws
anchor after a hearty breakfast and heads for the British Virgin
Islands. Power
Yacht Captain
Tony clears customs while the ladies do some shopping at the tiny
beach shops of the quaint island of Jost van Dyke. We
have lunch on the beach at Jost van Dyke and spend the rest of the
day, at Sandy Key, a picture perfect deserted
island about a mile or so from Jost.
This little island is coconut encrusted with thick undergrowth, powder
white beach and a pleasure to explore. Take with you,
flip-flops, some bug spray and a hat, this is a "must do"
little walk through the undergrowth. The path leads to the
crest of this island about 50 feet above the water where you can see La
Princesa at anchor below. We idle
off to have a sundowner at the “Soggy Dollar Bar” on
white Bay and overnight there.
DAY 3.
We depart early from
Jost and round the South West corner of the
island of Tortola, perhaps
stopping in at picturesque Soper’s hole for some sightseeing (and
shopping if you are so inclined), then on to Norman Island (Treasure
Island- still uninhabited-from Robert Louis Stevensons famous novel
Treasure Island) . The main aim of this destination is to
snorkel at the three famous pirates caves, where real treasure was
found. The real treasure today is under the water at the
mouth of all three caves and that is the corals and fish life.
Our over night anchorage is the out of the way anchorage of Beneurs
Bay. Beneurs Bay is the home of the most turtles and pigmy
conch. The sunsets here have a surprise for everyone.
Enjoy another La Princesa happy hour followed by your evening meal by
candle light.
DAY
4.
The fourth day will start off
by snorkeling at the famous “Indians” off Norman Island.
This is a unique snorkeling spot because the Indians is a pinnacle
which crests the water, this means that everyone can slowly snorkel
around this whole island where you see the very deep drop-off to 60
feet on the one side and the shallower section on the other side.
For the brave snorkeler there is a hollow cave section where some folk
snorkel through. After lunch we head for Manchioneel
Bay on Cooper Island for exploring and relaxing by the beach.
Lots of coconut palms on the beach and a gorgeous beach bar for
those unusual tropical drinks in paradise.
DAY
5.
Power yacht “La Princesa” will take
you from Cooper Island to the world famous “Baths” on Virgin Gorda
where we will explore the caves and have lunch. After lunch we will
travel to Gorda Sound and anchor off the Bitter End Yacht Club for
sundowners. This is
really a wonderful place in the sun, try to walk the grounds of the
Bitter End Yacht club and imagine that everything you see has been
brought there by yacht. There are no roads to the Bitter End
Yacht club, even the whale skeleton on the beach was brought by yacht.
DAY
6.
On the sixth day, we will
leave early and stop off at Marina
Cay to snorkel, explore and just relax after an exciting 5 days of new
experiences. Marina
Cay is my number one favorite little island it has so much history and
is only 100 yards in diameter. There is a lovely powder white
beach with coconut palms, a gorgeous beach bar and four great
apartments on the crest of this little island. Spend the whole
day at this jewel of the Caribbean because this island you will see
featured in magazines, the movies and other Caribbean advertising.
Enjoy happy hour followed by another glorious meal on board power yacht La Princesa.
DAY
7.
On your last full day we will
cross the channel back to St. John’s Island in the US Virgins and
spend the afternoon on the beach at
Hawks nest Bay. This is the back drop for countless movies, this
anchorage has thick coconut palms with large white beaches and no sign
of habitation (well just a little) and it is here where you can
enjoy your farewell dinner on board
motor yacht “La Princesa”.
DAY 8.
We will make our way slowly
back to Charlotte Amalie Harbour on St. Thomas and arrive at
midday or
the early afternoon.
YOU
WILL NEVER BE THE SAME AGAIN…!!
